1. Can you block thermal imaging?
In most cases, you cannot. But infrared rays can't penetrate walls,
and also the glass can block IR. So, if you don’t want to be
detected, you can conceal behind glass or walls to block the
thermal imaging.
2. Pseudo Color - Lava
In the Lava pseudo color, the white indicates high temperature and
dark red indicates low temperature. Its entire palette uses warm
colors. For ultra-high temperature targets, it is more in line with
human visual viewing.
3. What is DRI Range?
It is a means of measuring the distance at which an infrared
detector can produce an image of specific target and can be divided
into detection range, recognition range, identification range.
D (Detection): ability to distinguish an object from the background
R (Recognition): ability to classify the object class (animal,
human, vehicle, boat …)
I (Identification): ability to describe the object in details (a
man with a hat, a deer, a Jeep …)
According to Johnson's criteria, when the probability of target
detail visible at the DRI distance is 50%, the minimum number line
pairs of the target is 1:3:6 (or 1:4:8), and the corresponding
minimum number of pixels is 2:6:12 (or 2:8:16).
Assuming that the target diameter is H, the focal length is f, the
pixel size is d, and the number of line pairs is n, then the view
distance L=H×f/(2n×d)
